The Sitting Sickness Kills Silently
Warning to couch potatoes – sitting kills.
And ironically, even if you exercise regularly, too much sitting can still work against you. Our bodies were made to move.
The more common way to say this is, “use it or lose it.” And research proves this is true.
Where might this excessive sitting happen? One obvious place is watching TV. The average American watches 40 hours a week. That’s the same as a regular full-time job. And older people tend to watch even more.
Another common place is work. Many jobs are sedentary these days. Not good.
Learn all the ways that too much sitting affects your health in this Green Med Info article. You will find it here.
China Incinerates 3 US Shipments of Genetically Modified Corn
Why is it that other countries want to avoid GMO foods? And why is it that in the U.S. we don’t?
You can thank an unholy alliance of (very) big business and government. In spite of evidence that GMO foods are potentially harmful, they are frequently approved for use. Could that have anything to do with the number of former Monsanto employees that hold government positions? What do you think?
The fact that the Chinese are willing to destroy these crops should tell you something. What do they know that we don’t?

Hold The Bone Density Drugs!
As women age they are often pushed to take bone density drugs.
But are these necessary?
A new study points out that osteoporosis develops more slowly than previously thought. And that’s good news.
Because the drugs have many awful side effects. In addition, they don’t strengthen the bones as much as keep them from recycling old, dead bone tissue. So what is left is more fragile. In other words, it can break more easily.

Don’t Let Supplements Sabotage Your Lab Tests
I support taking supplements. Vitamins, herbs and other natural nutrients support healthy living.
But if you are getting lab work done, some of these can skew your results. Not good.
For example, some of them can cause a false positive or a false negative lab result. And since they change your chemistry, your doctor might not treat you correctly.
For a list of what supplements can change results, along with what tests you should be concerned about, see the article here.
Student Science Experiment Finds Plants Won’t Grow Near Wi-Fi Router
Wi-Fi is everywhere.
As convenient as that is, is it a good thing? Maybe not.
Recently a group of high school students tested the effects of Wi-Fi on plant growth. What they found was surprising.
They put seeds near a Wi-Fi router and watered them. Other seeds were placed far away from the router and watered.
At the end of the experiment, the router seeds had not sprouted. The others had.
So at the very least, you shouldn’t place plants near a router. But do you really want to be near one yourself?
The article has pictures of the results. You can read about it here.
All the best to you for your health and happiness,
