I am still shocked by this information.
The first time that it became clear for me was 10 years ago when a young lady came in complaining of dizziness. It had come on suddenly.
When she called and gave her symptoms I asked how old she was. When she said she was 22, I remember thinking that all the symptoms were like a stroke. But I dismissed it because of her age.
Apparently so did the doctors at the ER where she had gone the previous day.
When asked about how she ate it was appalling. Nothing but sugar and starches. Soda and cereal at breakfast. Pasta at lunch. Almost no protein at all.
It turned out that she had another episode a week later. This time the MDs at the ER put it together. She’d had two strokes.
